The Ryan Brothers: Lost Episode
“THE RYAN BROTHERS: LOST EPISODE” is a 4-minute short horror film that we had a wonderful time creating. It tells the story of two brothers who host a true crime podcast that focuses on the stories of serial killers; however, disaster strikes when elder brother Ryan decides to investigate the mysterious killings committed by a murderous fiend known as the “Dearg Due.”
Behind the Scenes
The EditingThe editing process of the film took a couple of weeks to accomplish, as he has done most of the post-production. To achieve all of this, Adobe Premiere Pro and Adobe Audition were used during post-production.
The Dearg Due voice was achieved by duplicating recorded lines, changing the pitch of one of the tracks, and adding reverb to one of them. There were difficulties in organizing the footage, so I asked Chris to help with the files that were recorded on the first day of production. To fully compile the footage from the first day, I had to make a separate sequence to place in all the video and audio files and export them into one file so that it would not be difficult to do in the full sequence.I added sound effects and music in the background from a website called Epidemic Sound, one of the best sources of non-copyrighted sounds. To make this a true horror film, the jumpscares featured in the film were amplified by louder sound effects and buildup, to make it as effective as possible. Audience reactions proved it to be successful.
